Huli

Branding, UI/UX Design, Laravel and Angular5 Web App Development

Wigwam worked with Huli on their brand identity and built a responsive website to house their pioneering route planning software.

Developed by a team of outdoor enthusiasts with a knack for computing, Huli is a brand new app which allows users to create activity based route plans based on user preference input rather than direct map manipulation.

Branding

The brand identity was intended to encapsulate Huli’s philosophy to make it easier for members of the public to explore and exercise, no matter who or where you are. A vibrant colour palette was put together, accompanied by a friendly and accessible typeface.

We looked at everything from illustration style and icons to the colour palette, brand mark and even as far down as a photography treatment, so we could build a cohesive and consistent brand that they could use on all communication materials.

Sitemap and Wireframes

We first developed a new sitemap for the site and subsequently developed interactive wireframes using Axure. With the end user always in mind, we focused on making an intuitive route planning tool and a quick and easy registration system. Our wireframes provided a starting point to work out how the site would be navigated, minimising the number of clicks required to access important information and making the user journey efficient and fluid.

Development

Based on the wireframes and Brandbook style guidelines, we designed responsive User Interfaces for all the pages of the website as well as pop-up windows, emails, subscription forms etc.

WordPress was used for the main website. We developed a custom WP theme to be responsive and look great on all devices and browsers. It was designed in such a way that the client could easily manage and edit the look and content of the website via the WordPress CMS . Angular5 was used for the Web App which becomes accessible after login. We developed user profiles, a route planner, payment integration with Stripe, and various API integrations using JSON. While the front-facing website runs on WordPress, we used Laravel Framework for the back-end of the Web App. This allowed for way more customisation, speed optimisation and control over security.

Wigwam were great at translating our brand ideas into something that represents our company ethos and looks unique.”
